Elementary is Keeping it REEL

Welcome to Our Elementary Department—Where Every Learner Soars to New Heights!

At our school district, we are driven by a mission to unlock each child’s potential through a learner-centered, TEKS-based curriculum from Pre-K to 5th grade. Our dedicated team of Instructional Coordinators and talented educators across the district collaborate to create an engaging, standards-aligned curriculum focused on meeting the diverse needs of every student.

Curriculum and Assessment Excellence

To provide a high-quality educational experience, we use district-wide checkpoints and a district benchmark aligned to our curriculum. These periodic assessments gauge student understanding of key concepts, tailored by grade and subject, and are offered in the language of instruction. To support readiness for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), district benchmarks are given in major content areas, providing a comprehensive view of each child’s progress.

In addition, we have introduced Student Learner Profiles, available on the right side of our webpage, to offer clear and accessible insights into each child’s learning journey. These profiles are part of our commitment to transparency, helping parents understand what their child is learning and how best to support them. With this detailed view, we aim to keep you informed and engaged as partners in your child’s success.

To further enrich instruction, we offer access to our district’s Symbaloo, located at the bottom of each campus webpage. This resource hub includes instructional support programs integrated into our curriculum and accessible to both staff and students. Students have been taught how to access and log on to these programs, which they regularly use in the classroom to enhance their learning experiences.

Students in grades 3-5 also receive a Data Management for Assessment and Curriculum (DMAC) progress report, summarizing their district assessment performance and STAAR preparedness. Parents, we encourage you to review these reports with your child, sign, and return them to continue fostering your child’s educational growth.
