The United Independent School District congratulates United South High School Junior Diego Quiroga on being this year’s Sames Kia in the Klassroom Car Giveaway grand prize winner! Diego is now the proud owner of a 2023 Kia Sportage. The exciting finale, hosted by Sames Kia in partnership with United ISD, took place at the Sames Auto Arena, just before the commencement of UISD's first graduation ceremony of 2023.
Diego Quiroga along with 15 other high school students from United High School, Alexander High School, Lyndon B. Johnson High School and United South High School, all of whom achieved perfect attendance throughout the year, had the incredible opportunity to compete for a chance to drive away in a brand new Kia Sportage, generously sponsored by Sames Kia. This initiative, which has been running successfully for the past ten years, aims to promote perfect attendance and emphasize the importance of consistent school attendance among UISD students.
Diego’s dedication to attending class without fail has paid off. Achieving perfect attendance for at least a nine-week period made him and the other students eligible for the final drawing. After a highly anticipated selection process, Diego emerged as the fortunate winner of the 2023 Kia Sportage. Sames Kia also rewarded the other 15 finalists with an electronic tablet.
The Sames Kia in the Klassroom program has become a wonderful incentive for UISD students, motivating them to prioritize their education and work towards achieving their goals. This program not only encourages regular attendance but also fosters a sense of responsibility and commitment among the student body. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Diego Quiroga and commend him for his remarkable achievement.
We would like to thank the Laredo Federal Credit Union, for covering the vehicle's tax, title, and license costs. Furthermore, A&K World Class Driving School will provide a driver's education package to assist Diego in navigating the roads safely. We also thank Chick-fil-A Marketplace on Loop 20 and Clark Blvd for treating three of our students to free Chick-fil-A for an entire year.
The partnership between United ISD and Sames Kia has been instrumental in promoting school attendance and academic success within the community.
