UISD Holds Proclamation to Honor School Counselors

United Independent School District held a proclamation ceremony at United High School’s library to honor all of the district’s school counselors.

The district celebrated National School Counseling Week 2024 during the week of February 5th through 9th to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors. The celebration highlighted the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for successful careers and lives as adults. 

The annual observance is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

School counselors help students examine their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents. They work in partnership with parents and teachers to focus on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, career, and social/emotional development, and provide a system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic, and optimistic goals.
