Veronica Amaro Garza Selected as Associate Principal of L.B. Johnson 9th Grade Campus

United Independent School District is pleased to announce the selection of Veronica Amaro Garza as Associate Principal of Lyndon B. Johnson 9th Grade Campus.

Mrs.Garza has been an educator for 24 years, with 20 years at UISD. She started her career as a reading teacher at Los Obispos Middle School before going to San Antonio to teach English Language Arts and Reading at Garner Middle School. She returned to Laredo to teach English at Lyndon B. Johnson High School, and then went to Salvador Garcia Middle School as an Academic Coordinator. Mrs. Garza returned to Johnson High School as an Assistant Principal, changed roles to serve as a Campus Instructional Coordinator, and then returned to administration as an Assistant Principal once again.

She has a true passion for secondary education. “One of my proudest achievements as an educator is guiding students through their high school journey to graduation. It's been incredibly fulfilling to support their academic growth and personal development, helping them overcome challenges and celebrating their successes along the way,” she said.

Mrs. Garza holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Sociology from Texas A&M International University, and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She brings all this education and experience with her as she takes the reigns as Associate Principal at Johnson 9th Grade.

She is married to Juan Daniel Garza and they have two children, Daniella and Joaquin. Her parents are Miguel (†) and Elizabeth Amaro, who always held teachers in high regard and instilled in her the value of education at a very young age. She enjoys reading and watching her children play sports.

Mrs. Garza is excited to step up to her new responsibilities as Associate Principal of Lyndon B. Johnson 9th Grade Campus. “I am so grateful to our Principal Mr. Armando Salazar for this incredible opportunity, and I am humbled and honored to be given the privilege and responsibility to lead our 9th grade wolf pack to greatness. I look forward to collaborating with the administration, faculty, staff and community at Johnson High School 9th grade campus to fulfill the Wolf Pack vision of ensuring that ‘all our students achieve personal success in their learning and become responsible and productive citizens,’” said Mrs. Garza. She also has a message for all her incoming 9th grade students, “To our future Wolves: I can’t wait to meet each one of you! Remember when you are a Johnson High School Wolf you are to Expect the Best, Be the Best and, above all, have Wolf Pride!”
