UISD Announces New Opportunity to Apply for Substitute

Do you want to be a UISD substitute? The UISD Human Resources Department will be hiring additional substitutes in the near future. Substitutes Program Coordinator Patricia Gutierrez announces a new window of opportunity to open soon.

The Substitute Teacher application window will open on Nov. 13 and will close on Nov. 20. Interviews will be held on December 20th, 2024, at the UISD Bill Johnson Student Activity Center (SAC), Rooms 1-2 from 3 pm -5 pm.

The requirements are as follows: Visit www.uisd.net to apply for the substitute teacher posting online. Make sure the application is complete, and submit the supporting documents within the five days that the application window is open.

Applicants will need to provide a copy of his or her high school diploma and, or GED, official college transcripts for college hours or a college degree, and two reference letters from a current or previous supervisor.

"An application will not be processed unless references are submitted," said Gutierrez. "Applicants can submit a reference from a supervisor from the most recent work experience. If the person has no work experience, they may submit two professional letters of recommendation, but they cannot be from a family member."
