The United Independent School District Board of Trustees swore in two newly elected Members, and two incumbent Members who were reelected.
Rodolfo “Rudy” Gonzalez, Jr. will represent District 2, and Dianelle “Dianelly” Martinez will serve her constituents in District 7.
The two incumbent Board Members who were sworn in were Gilbert Aguilar, Jr., who represents District 1, and Ramiro Veliz, III who serves District 4.
The Board of Trustees also elected new Board Officers as follows:
Javier Monemayor, Jr. - District 5, President
Aliza Flores Oliveros - District 3, Vice President
Michelle Molina - District 6, Secretary
Ramiro Veliz, III - District 4, Parliamentarian
Reelected District 4 Board Member and newly-selected Parliamentarian Ramiro Veliz, III said, “I look forward to the next four years. I am thankful that I have remained on the Board, and my commitment remains to our children and to the employees of this great school district.
District 1 Board Member Gilbert Aguilar, Jr. said, “I’d like to thank my family, friends, and all my supporters for giving me an opportunity to serve our children, as well as serving alongside my fellow Board Members, whom I know share the same vision that I do: to advocate for our children.”
District 2 Board Member Rodolfo “Rudy” Gonzalez said, “We’re here to make positive changes. I can’t wait to start working with my fellow Board Members and moving forward. I’m excited to be on board!”
District 7 Board Member Dianelle “Dianely” Martinez said, “I'm really looking forward to working for the community and working alongside the Board Members, because there is no ‘I’ in ‘Team.’ Together we have to make the dream work, which is making our District a UNITED one, that respects and dignifies every single person and every individual.”
UISD looks forward to a bright future serving our community with our new and incumbent Board Members.
