The countdown to Christmas Day is officially on! United ISD students received a special surprise from Jolly Old St. Nick and his buddy, Grinch, who was actually playing nice Friday morning. The memorable visit was personally sponsored by UISD District 6 Board Secretary, Michelle Molina, who rode in with Santa and his deer on the Z93 sleigh, visiting campuses throughout the Mines Road area.
Staff at Muller Elementary were also excited to welcome Santa Claus to their campus.
With holiday favorite songs playing such as Feliz Navidad and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Molina greeted the students as they came outside with smiles from ear to ear. “It’s exciting! It’s the first time we bring the Santa sleigh for a Mines Road Christmas.” Molina added. “The response has been absolutely amazing. We had kids yelling, screaming, some crying because they were in disbelief that Santa was coming in. It’s something they are going to remember for the rest of their lives.” The elementary schools treated to the Christmas sleigh surprise included Finley, Kazen, Fasken and Muller.

The holiday spirit meter was also elevated for students at Washington and Ramirez middle schools. “This is such a wonderful idea! I am glad that our students were included. It doesn’t matter their age, it’s important to not forget about our middle school students,” expressed Ramirez Middle School principal, Juan Antonio Herrera, Jr. “It was a joy to see how their eyes lit up when they saw Santa. They were especially excited to see the Grinch.” Molina hopes to continue spreading holiday cheer to everyone across the district.
