Francisco “Frank” Castillo was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees in November 2020 and is the representative for District 7.
Mr. Castillo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Texas A & M International University.
Mr. Castillo has worked as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at TAMIU, the City of Laredo Airport Manager, a Mental Health Care Caseworker, a Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Officer, and Community Information Officer. Mr. Castillo retired as a certified Juvenile Probation Officer in 2022. Mr. Castillo is a Webb County Appraisal District member representing United ISD. Mr. Castillo has worked as a substitute and volunteer. He is an active member of the Texas State Employees Union, Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science Honor Society), Sigma Alpha Pi (National Honor Society for Leadership & Success).
Mr. Castillo was born and raised in Laredo, TX, and attended Laredo Public schools. His daughter attended United ISD schools and his wife is a retired educator of United ISD. Mr. Castillo is eager to serve as the Board Member for District 7. Having seen first hand the issues United ISD stakeholders face, he is committed to ensuring that the District and its programs operate efficiently and effectively.
