WHAT IS TITLE IX?

Title IX of the Education Amendments 1972 (20 U.S.C.s1681 et: seq,) and its implementing regulations. 34 C.F.R. Part 106 (Title IX) state the following: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

MISSION STATEMENT

The United Independent School District Title IX Office (Discipline Management Department) is committed to providing every child, employee, visitor and vendor with an environment that is free from harassment, discrimination and retaliation.  By providing an educational/work environment that is safe and nurturing, we strongly believe that this will ultimately lead to educational success for our students and a productive work environment for our employees.

Title IX is applicable to all students, employees, visitors and vendors at all of the United Independent School District Campuses, district property, district activities and programs affiliated with the District.

United Independent School District believes it is at the forefront in educating our students as we are guided by our morals and our conviction of being true leaders in education and our foundation of employees that have strong work ethics.  It is with this leadership that we will be the example to ensure that we maintain respectability and professionalism in our educational and working environment and be free from harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.

NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATION
