Schooling Towards Exceptional Performance (S.T.E.P) Academy

Schooling Towards Exceptional Performance (S.T.E.P) Academy was created as an off campus disciplinary school for students in Middle School and High School in United Independent School District who are placed for a disciplinary infraction that merits an off campus placement. Please note that we are now located at 1600 Espejo Molina in Rio Bravo, Texas.

The following is important information that you need to be aware of when bringing your child to S.T.E.P. Academy:

Parent/Guardian and student must be present during the registration (intake) process

Intakes will take place from 8:00 am to 11:00 am only (intake process will take approximately one hour)

• Parent/Guardian ID, a utility bill (water, light)
• Two packages of theme paper (200 count), one box of pencils and a box of facial tissue
• Rules, contracts, expectations, dress code and other information will be discussed during the intake process
• Your son/daughter will need to be dressed in appropriate STEP Academy clothing in order to begin classes on the day that they register. Pant colors are khaki, blue, or black. No jeans, skirts, shorts, capri pants will be allowed. Shoes will need to be solid black, white, brown, or grey.
• You will need to purchase a S.T.E.P. Academy shirt when registering your child (sizes: S--XL all shirt sizes are $15.00) Shirts can be purchased at STEP Academy or online via the online payment system at https://osp.osmsinc.com/unitedisd/ (Under schools, click high school, then STEP Academy, then choose appropriate shirt for either Middle School or High School)

In cooperation with your child’s home campus, our faculty’s pledge is to work diligently with your son/daughter to improve their academic performance as well as their behavior so that they are prepared to meet the academic rigor and the social challenges they will face throughout their school years.
